Conditions I can help with

& My areas of focus

Which issues do I address with naturopathy?

There are 10 naturopathic techniques, the first three being the most important: nutrition, physical activity, and relaxation / stress and emotional management. Through these techniques, it is possible to address these issues, preferably beforehand (prevention and acting on the root cause) and in a holistic (global) way.

Digestive disorders

Bloating, constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel, dysbiosis etc.

Women's health

Menstrual cycle issues, pregnancy, menopause

Fatigue, Stress

… Sleep disorders

Chronic illnesses

Autoimmune diseases, hormonal issues (thyroid…)

Immunity support

ENT disorders…

Pain

Joint issues, migraines…

Skin issues

Acne, eczema…

Weight...

Cardiovascular disorders

Digestive disorders

Diarrhea / constipation / dysbiosis / candidiasis / bloating / gas / pain…
Many digestive disorders originate from diet. However, it’s not the only factor: depending on the case, it could be due to stress, a lack of physical activity, an unbalanced microbiota (intestinal flora), a liver under stress, but also other issues (e.g., hypothyroidism leads to constipation)…. There are therefore many levers through which naturopathy can act.

Women's health

Regarding the menstrual cycle, irregular / heavy periods, fibroids etc.:

Cycle-related disorders, such as pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), characterized by symptoms like: abdominal pain, headaches, swelling, bloating, breast tenderness, irritability, fatigue, breakouts during periods… With its diverse techniques, naturopathy helps combat sources of inflammation, detoxify the liver (which is central to hormone management), relieve pain, lower sugar cravings, and rebalance mood.

Regarding menopause:

Naturopathy supports women in perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, and related symptoms (such as hot flashes, fatigue, low mood, weight gain etc.), through core techniques (diet, physical activity, relaxation) but also through hydrology (e.g., sauna) and the use of specific plants.

Preparing for and/or supporting pregnancy and postpartum in naturopathy:

Naturopathy can help create the best conditions for getting pregnant by providing nutritional guidance. Certain nutrients are necessary for a healthy pregnancy for both mother and baby, ensuring good vitality for the mother, and detoxifying the mother’s body before pregnancy (detox must happen before, never during pregnancy or breastfeeding). Relaxation techniques are also useful. During pregnancy, there are levers available, but fewer, notably because many plants are contraindicated.

During postpartum, whether the mother breastfeeds or not, naturopathy is there to support her vitality, minimize baby blues if present, and promote lactation if needed.
Please note that this does not guarantee that the woman will become pregnant or that the pregnancy will proceed without incident.

Fatigue, stress, sleep disorders, burn-out:

A revitalizing diet is one of the keys to regaining your energy and providing the nutrients necessary for serenity (like magnesium). Other factors include movement and practicing relaxation techniques (simple ones exist)… All in all, setting up healthy habits… while taking your current lifestyle into account as much as possible. I support you in this implementation which may seem difficult. However, one should not expect miracles from plants or food supplements if, in parallel, the “commute / work / sleep” lifestyle is not questioned at least a minimum. But I am also aware that in our society, it is not realistic to work only 4 hours a day, do 2 hours of sports and 2 hours of meditation daily. I help you find the most suitable solution for you.

Chronic illnesses, autoimmune diseases, hormonal disorders:

Autoimmune diseases (intestinal, thyroid, joint…) … Naturopathy comes here as support to medical care, to bring better well-being, always via the mentioned core techniques. Several studies show that many chronic and autoimmune disorders have their origin in the gut. Naturopathy, through diet, stress management and other tools, can support the intestines, its lining and its microbiota, in order to limit inflammation and support well-being in a global way.

Regarding endocrine (hormonal) disorders, naturopathy, in addition to medical follow-up, helps to rebalance the terrain. Having done my thesis on hypothyroidism in perimenopause, I invite you to look at my blog.

Pain (joint, migraines...):

Pain is so varied, its causes (when known) so diverse… Naturopathy supports them humbly. When pain is related to joints or muscles, there is an inflammatory origin that can come from an excess of acidity in the body (“acidosis”): naturopathy can support this, helping to limit acidosis / inflammation with the goal of reducing pain. Migraines can also be mitigated or even prevented in some cases, insofar as migraines can have different causes: dietary, environmental, muscle tension, hormonal / congested liver, inflammation, etc… In naturopathy, we seek to prevent them with a suitable diet and a lifestyle that limits them. When they are present, they can also be supported with certain plants for example, and other techniques (hydrology, energy work etc.).

Skin issues:

They say that the skin is the mirror of our health and our inner self. A diet with too much sugar, too much bad fat, too many acidifying elements, and so on, contributes significantly to skin problems. The good health of our intestines and kidneys promotes beautiful skin. As mentioned above, our emotional states also play a role, depending on the individual, on the appearance of the skin. These are all factors where naturopathy has an action.

Cardiovascular issues, weight:

In conjunction with medical follow-up, naturopathy will be able to support these issues by working on prevention and on the causes of dysfunctions, with a view to better well-being.

It is recognized that the factors favoring cardiovascular and weight problems are diet and physical activity (specifically the lack of it: sedentary lifestyle), which are the two main techniques of naturopathy. The third, stress and emotional management, can also be involved, for example in case of hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, and weight issues such as eating disorders. Beyond these techniques, hydrology (techniques using water) and the use of plants also support people subject to these issues.

Immunity support:

Naturopathy can support immunity, preventively (preferably as always), but also through “anti-symptomatic” action. There is a close link between intestinal health and regulated immunity, and working on the root cause of the disorder is essential here.

Immunity is boosted through the intake of key immune nutrients, primarily via diet: whether through “revitalizing” foods (where vitamins/minerals haven’t been destroyed by heat or processing), super-foods (seaweed, fermented foods, bee products…)…. And if necessary through food supplements and plants that support immunity. The second technique, physical activity in the fresh air, is also indispensable. And stress management, given that stress lowers immune defenses.

Dietary rebalancing

What is dietary rebalancing? Is it a diet?

It is not a restrictive diet, but a review of eating habits to regain or maintain vitality. These new habits will allow you to provide as much as possible the nutrients you need, in quality and quantity. Nutrients consist of macro-nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats / fibers), and micro-nutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace elements).

Of course, this healthy dietary rebalancing is also done based on your issues.

Is it for a fixed duration?

No, it is a long-term approach, unlike a weight-loss diet. Indeed, good eating habits act primarily in prevention, and also for your well-being.

Is it restrictive and difficult?

The program I will propose is designed so that you don’t feel a permanent sense of hunger, nor do you feel deprived and frustrated. Not only would that be counterproductive (the famous yo-yo effect), but it could also lead to eating disorders, a slowing of your metabolism, deficiencies…

In other words, it will be about creating beautiful plates, eating (and drinking) with pleasure and awareness, focusing mainly on quality (… also quantity, but without weighing or counting calories!). Don’t worry, it won’t be “sad”.

I will explain why you should eat this rather than that, because I am convinced that understanding leads to better application.

Depending on where you are, it may take more time (several consultations). My goal, in any case, is to send you a program that is feasible for you, meaning realistic propositions, and to support you with them. And treats are allowed, as we say in naturopathy, up to 20% of the time (the 80/20 rule), enjoyed without guilt as a real pleasure. Rather than demonizing certain foods and focusing on what to reduce, it’s better to emphasize good, healthy foods to integrate.

Who is it for? Everyone, from age 3 upwards.

For the consultation process, I invite you to read the “Session Process” page.

What is the difference with a naturopathy consultation?

Diet is the first technique used in naturopathy. Dietary rebalancing is therefore part of a naturopathy consultation, but doesn’t include the rest of the techniques. Naturopathy has other tools: physical activity, stress management, use of plants, etc., making it a global approach.

If you just want to act on diet, dietary rebalancing is what you need. Also, if you are hesitating to book with a naturopath, dietary rebalancing can be the first step.

Whenever possible and time permitting, I will still give you a few tips outside the scope of nutrition.

Chi Nei Tsang

The belly concentrates our emotions and often accumulates a lot of physical but also emotional tension. There’s a reason we say “having a knot in your stomach”.

Chi Nei Tsang is a deep tissue massage of the abdomen. “Chi” means “energy” (in the energetic sense of the term), “Nei Tsang” means “internal organ work”.

This massage helps to:

  • release these tensions
  • feel more relaxed, less anxious / stressed
  • detoxify this area, restore movement, encourage circulation.
  • feel better in your gut, and consequently, overall.
